THE DOURO, AT ANOTHER PACE

A landscape that invites
you to stay.

There are places we understand better when we stop trying to see everything.

In the Douro, the vineyard holds the work of generations. The river gives continuity to the landscape. Around a table, time takes on the shape of a conversation. This journey begins with that way of being in a place.

The seven-day design brings wine and cooking together with gentle movement, creative work and time for individual care. Each encounter has room to unfold; each pause is part of the journey.

WHERE WE PLAN TO STAY

Six Senses
Douro Valley.

The house is part of the journey.

This is where the original itinerary begins: at Quinta de Vale Abraão in Samodães, Lamego. A 19th-century house between the river, gardens and vineyards, with contemporary interiors and room to stay awhile.

Planned hotel base for the 2027 edition. Booking, room category and services will be confirmed in the proposal.

AT THE TABLE, AT HOME

Vale de Abraão
and flavours from the garden.

Vale de Abraão and Summer Garden were already part of the original itinerary. The garden, Open Kitchen and Wine Library connect food, wine and hospitality without turning every encounter into a transfer.

Summer Garden is seasonal: the hotel lists opening from June to September. The 2027 format will be adapted to the edition’s dates.

WCE CURATORIAL APPROACH

Each encounter
begins with
a relationship.

World Cooking Experience brings together the narrative, the people and the care that make a journey coherent. In the Douro, that means connecting wine and cooking with the space needed for the experience to settle.

Hosts, artisans and wellbeing practitioners will be presented with their confirmed roles when the edition is defined. The conversation starts with your interests, your time and the way you want to travel.

Begin a conversation ↗

WHO THIS JOURNEY IS FOR

Curiosity at the table.
Freedom in your pace.

For those who find pleasure in food and wine and want to return from a journey with room to breathe. For those who enjoy learning with their hands, listening to stories and spending a little longer in a place.

You can arrive without experience in yoga, painting or wine tasting. Curiosity is the starting point. Share your preferences for pace, food and mobility so we can assess suitable arrangements.
